How to apply?
The application process involves several steps. In order to apply please proceed as follows:
1. Apply through our Online-Application at http://applications.bit.uni-bonn.de/application/
2. Please submit the following documents as PDF or JPG to the e-mail address msc-lsi at b-it-center dot de:
Transcripts, also intermediate and preliminary transcripts
Diploma
Secondary school leaving certificate (with grades)
TOEFL or IELTS test result (mandatory document)
Entrance exam to university (only if applicable)
Statement of purpose
GRE test (not mandatory but helpful for the application)
Copy of your passport
At least one Letter of Recommendation by a University Professor
Applications for the intake in

Important notes:
Please fill in the electronic form of the online-application completely and upload all requested documents. A password is requested for further logins. You will receive all further information by e-mail, therefore a valid e-mail address is crucial.
Deadline for application is March 1, 2011 of the graduate programme starting on October 1 of the following year. Deadline for the first round is December 31, 2010. Results of the evaluation of applications will be announced soon after the deadline. Applications are therefore welcome to reach us earlier than March 1, 2011. Due to a change of regulations a tuition fee of 500 Euro per semester will be payable to B-IT/ the University of Bonn. B-IT has become part of the DAAD
International Degree Programme

Once you have submitted your application, the review committee will meet after the deadline and decide on the applications that have reached us so far. If the committee requests further information about you, you will be contacted through e-mail and all further steps will also be explained through e-mail.

B-IT Work Study Programme
The recently introduced B-IT work study programme is aimed at excellent applicants. Applicants - who should have performed far above average- for the B-IT work study programme will be chosen from all incoming applications every year. Selected students will join the group of a professor and will be seamlessly be integrated into ongoing research from the very beginning of their studies in Life Science Informatics. The early exposure to research will complement their research-oriented studies in the Master Programme of Life Science Informatics and offer them them the opportunity to gain research experience early in their studies.
